Sugar Cookie Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter

  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

  • a few dashes of cinnamon

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 sour cream


  • Directions: 
    1. Sift together the dry ingredients. (flour, cream of tarter, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking powder baking soda, and salt) Set aside until needed.
     2. In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and sour cream until well blended. Next, mix in the sifted ingredients. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill over night.
    3. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. On a slightly floured surface roll out the dough to about 1/4" thick. Cut into shapes with whatever cookie cutters you would like.
    4. Bake for about 8-10 minutes.
    5. Let it completely cool before decorating
