Once the cake is completely crumbled take some icing whatever type you want to use and add it to the bowl. I've heard that some people use half the container, but I only decided to use a spoonful and a half. From there you will then mix with a spoon or your hands the icing and cake together. Once its completely mixed roll the cake into small balls and place on wax paper. Next, you will add the stick into the middle of the cake pop. I bought basic lollipop sticks from Michael's for this. To get the sticks to stay either melt chocolate and dip the stick into it and then place it into the rolled cake ball or dip it into icing like I did. Once you have all the sticks in place the pops into the freezer for about 45 minutes until they are firm.
When you pull them out, it's time to decorate!! I've read that most people usually melt some type of chocolate and then dip the cake pops into it, but I wanted to try to use icing. So, I decided to heat up the icing in the microwave to get it thinner. The first time I did this it was way to long and I only did 30 seconds. So that didn't work since it was to thin and runny. I decided to do it again and this time I did 8 seconds, so that the icing was just slightly thinner than normal. Once they all had icing on it I covered some in sprinkles.
For the first time making cakepops I have to say it wasn't to hard. I will defiantly experimenting with these, next time I think i'm gonna try to use chocoalte instead of icing. Until next time...
