Montser Truck Cake

Since today is our nephew's 5th birthday, we decided to make a monster truck cake since he loves them. This was a very simple cake to make. We used our 9x13 pan and made a two layer cake the bottom was chocolate cake while the top was yellow.
We made and cooked each cake accordingly to the recipes on the back. Once they were cooled we were ready to start the filling. We used 2 Jell-o Devil Food Instant Pudding Mixes for the filling of our cake. To make the pudding thick enough we only used half the amount of milk that was needed.
Once the pudding was made we were ready to start putting the cake together. We placed the chocolate cake at the bottom and then piped a small barrier on top so once we put the pudding inside it wouldn't spill out the sides.
Once we got all the pudding inside the barrier it was time to place the yellow cake on top and start to ice the cake.
Once all the icing was on it was time to start decorating the cake. Since we're still in a learning proccess we used toy cars and monster trucks for props, instead of molding them out of food. (We will soon learn to do this) For the ramps we used Oreo's and iced them so they blended into the cake, and we covered the cake in Oreo crumbs so it looked like there was dirt on the cake. Below you will find pictures of the finished product.
