French Fries and Ketchup

So if you haven't already bought the book What's New Cupcake you defiantly need too. There are many different recipes for cool cupcake ideas. The recipe I decided to make today is called Side of Fries and it's very simple to make.
All you need is 4 mini Vanilla cupcakes and 10 standard Vanilla Cupcakes baked and cooled. The standard size cupcakes will be used for the base while the little one will be used for ketchup.
Next you will need 1 frozen pound cake thawed. You will then cut them into 1/2-inch slices.

It asks you to use a crinkle vegetable cutter to cut the pound cake into 1/2 inch strips. I didn't have so instead I used a serrated knife.
You will then bake to strips on a cookie sheet until they are golden brown on all sides.
The next step is for you to cover the 10 standard cupcakes with white icing (I used the icing that I created a few days earlier, that recipe is included in the previous post). For the mini cupcakes you need to use red food coloring or paste to make the icing look like ketchup. Once thats all finished you will then arrange the cupcakes they way you want them and add the fry pieces on top. The finished product looks like this:
